Dance Competition FAQ
1. Who/What styles can compete?
All styles and genres are all welcomed.
The Judges scoring card critera will be based on the following:
Technique & difficulty of the choreography
Overall stage performance relative to divisions (Solos, Duos, Teams)
2. Are teams limited to members competing and song time duration?
Teams have no limit to how many members are competing in their crew.
However all members should perform within the stage dimensions. Competitors should have their mix under 5 min.
3. What is the stage layout?
The stage is spherical in shape and measures 34′ wide by 30′ deep and it is elevated 3’3” off the ground.
The stage is made of concrete and is partially covered by a sloping roof. Access is available upstage right and upstage left
4. Do audience members have to pay to watch?
Dance On Yonge Dance Competition is completely free for ALL audience members.
We highly encourage every competitor to bring their friends and family!
5. When is the deadline to submit?
Competitors will have until July 4th to enroll in the competition.
Song submission deadline July 11th.
6. Are teams allowed to showcase at this event?
We encourage all teams, duo’s, solo’s to take part in Dance On Yonge. The option to showcase is also available!
